Updated: Feb 14, 2020

Recently, Harvard Health has published an article focusing on chiropractic care as a treatment option of lower back pain. Although Spine Manipulation is a primary therapy, there are other options available for patients.

Chiropractic Care is a system of therapy focusing on the structure of the body( bone, joints, muscles, fascia). Spine Manipulation is the primary treatment for lower back pain; most chiropractors practice it. Some chiropractors include other modalities such as postural exercises, ergonomic training, fascia and muscle release treatments such as ART, MRT to improve patients. American College of Physicians lower back pain guideline

recommends spinal manipulation along with heat, massage, and acupuncture as the primary treatment for lower back pain.

Chiropractic treatments may help many individuals; however, it is not without complications like any other medical procedures. At our Chiropractic office in Newport Beach, Dr Gilak will explain in details all the treatment options available for patients. Spine manipulation is a generic term used for any therapeutic movement of the spine. There is the various degree of manipulation, and besides, we have instrument-assisted manipulation such as using an Activator.

Besides, in order to release low back muscles, chiropractors usually advise patients of changing habits, postures, or other treatment and technique. The ultimate goal is to help relieve pain and help patients be more aware of their bodies and manage their conditions better.
